1. Be healthier

A lot of people put a large amount of pressure on themselves to lose X pounds by X date; I was one of them. Don’t be that person this year. I understand wanting to look a certain way or feel comfortable in your clothes but don’t put a negative pressure on yourself. Don’t focus on weight. Focus on health. Instead, be conscious of the fact that your body is a temple for the Holy Spirit of God to dwell in and you’re only given one body in this life and you don’t want to suffer from illnesses due to your diet. As you become more mindful of this, you should begin to make better choices about the foods you choose to eat and the lifestyle you choose to live and you'll no longer carry around guilt and shame. Learn to love and appreciate yourself for who you are and not how you look and focus on caring for your body as opposed to tying in your worth to your looks.
2. Live on purpose
Don’t let the wind of the world carry you where it wants, instead be intentional about your life. You are a living, breathing, walking miracle and purpose-filled being. Don’t let this world tell you who you are, what you are, and how you will live your God-given life. Instead, seek God and your God-given purpose (which is already inside of you somewhere) and begin making decisions towards that purpose. Everything you do, do it on purpose and with purpose. If you are doing a job, do it with purpose in mind, if you are spending time with friends/family, be present and be purposeful with your time.
3. Find meaningful motivation
Out of all the things you want to accomplish, consider your motivations. Don't let money, recognition, and proving others wrong (besides the devil) be your motivation. Find motivation in something that is lasting. When you workout to look good, you’ll likely stop working out once you’ve attained your body goals or you’ll dread working out. If you workout because you want to feel better and perform better in life or because you want to try and avoid diseases, you’ll likely last longer in your fitness goals. Likewise, if you begin a business for money instead of beginning it for passion, your business will likely become a burden you no longer care to sustain.
4. Heal
Pour your heart out to God. Don’t go another year or another day without seeking healing. Cry, yell, write, or speak but don’t stay hurt. Don’t remain in darkness, hurting others and yourself. Be true to yourself and say “God,I need you to heal me”. Don’t ignore your spirit’s condition. The true quality of your life depends on your healing. Open your heart up to God, read His word which he has left behind for you and let your creator and architect work on your heart. When he heals, He heals thoroughly. He will examine your heart and shows you things that you don’t even know are inside of you. So don’t jump into another relationship or move to another city seeking healing, because you won’t find it, instead all that hurt is going to come out; instead tell God what’s going on inside of you and ask Him to be your healer.
5. Be Content
Be content with what you have in the moment. Don't grow envious or unhappy because of what you have/lack. The word of God says in 1 Timothy 6:6-7 "godliness with contentment is great gain for we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it." Understand that contentment will bring you peace because instead of resisting and focusing on what needs to be different, you learn to accept what is. You accept where you are, understanding that you are doing your best and God will take care of the rest if you just cast your cares on Him. Contentment kills envy, jealousy, resentment and many other things. Be content with what you have and where you are knowing that this pleases God. God knows exactly where you are and what you are going through at all times. Stay close to Him and He will take care of everything else. Nothing you go through goes unnoticed. So don't label your days/seasons as "good" or "bad". All days serve a purpose. God works everything out for your good when you truly love Him (Romans 8:28).
